Born in the USSR in 1981 to a Russian mother and a Ukrainian father, I discovered my passion for art late in my thirties, during a journey marked by academic degrees, a corporate career, motherhood, immigration, and war. Creating visual objects became my way of communicating with the world. I express myself through various artistic languages, including painting and graphics, but primarily through tapestry.
In my workshop not far from Barcelona, I have built two weaving frames and enjoy the meditative process of hand-weaving. I am thrilled to combine one of humanity's most ancient techniques—frame weaving—with the unprecedented variety of natural and artificial fibers I encounter while traveling around the world. My works possess a raw and textured quality, reflecting my lyrical character and conveying a symbolic narrative shaped by my experiences as a modern nomad.
